How Do I Know When To Renovate? When to renovate depends on the type of issues you're having with your pond. Leaks can be one of the greatest headaches to track down and fix. There are so many things that cause leaks, only experience can help diagnose the issues at hand. Larger boulders, stacked stone walls, sidewalks, patios, and everything built "after" the pond becomes an obstacle when hunting down a leak. This is where our rule comes into play, if you can't find the leak 2-3 days after you start looking... RIP-IT-OUT!
The best way to know if you're making the right decision to renovate is to research your contractors. A Company that is only telling you to rebuild your pond, and not giving you options to help try and "Fix" your existing pond, most likely doesn't know where to start when trying to repair your current type of pond problem. You should always have an affordable fix option (1-2 day or so labor) to "band-aid" that issue, but... be aware that issue may reoccur multiple times in the future if unable to fix properly without renovations. |
